Helix becomes an independent health technology company within the Origo group.

Helix is created

Origo's Health Solutions unit responds to the pandemic with measures including vaccination schemes, a vaccination certificate and border screening.

Covid response

Nýherji, TM Software and Applicon merge under a new name and combine their strengths as one powerful IT company, Origo. Subsidiaries include Tempo and Applicon Sweden.

Origo is created

Heilsuvera, a communication portal for individuals and health professionals, is launched. The solution provides the general public with an overview of their own health.

Heilsuvera launches

Nýherji changes the internal structure and business model of the Nýherji group in 2008. Skyggnir ehf. and Vigor ehf. are separated from TM Software, which was previously the parent company of these units.

Nýherji acquires TM Software

Instead of receiving a paper prescription, the prescription is sent to a central prescription platform and the customer can pick up the medication at any pharmacy.

The first electronic prescription sent through Hekla

Hekla makes it possible for all health institutions in Iceland, pharmacies, the Social Insurance Administration, Iceland Health Insurance, the Directorate of Health and others concerned to send electronic data between different software systems in a secure, standardised and easy way.

The journey of Saga begins. Saga is a medical records system that keeps track of electronic medical records in Iceland. Saga is one of the most widely used medical records systems in Iceland and is used by all major health institutions and clinics in Iceland, a number of private clinics and in nursing homes.

Helix is an independent health technology company within the Origo group. The company is built on a solid foundation that dates back to 1993, when the development of the Saga medical records system began.
